Do you know what I dream?
I dream of finally being laid to rest.
I dream of sleeping beneath a shroud of violets,
Of giving the weary traveler a quiet repose.
I dream of lovers, laying among my wildflowers, flush with the rolling grass.
And I dream that when they finally find me,
Thousands of years from now,
They’ll gasp and wonder,
“How is it that this one had
Two heads and four arms?”
I dream they call me a monster.
I dream they lock me behind glass,
Your bones forever entangled with mine.
I dream that, if I must be found,
That I may be found with you.
